Supplier - Rossland Mountain Adventures
Main concerns solved by Adventure Engine:
  1. missing client calls for bookings due to time differences and staff in field
  2. time spent registering customers and managing trip lists
  3. administering waiver / terms and conditions prior to trip
  4. marketing / exposure budget and time lacking
Background

Rossland Mountain Adventures (RMA) is a tour company located in West Kootenay BC Canada, specializing in back country education, tours with multi-season hiking and ski trips. The operator Harry Allard is often involved in the guiding and trip execution. He wanted to optimise his web site as a sales tool. Previous to using Adventure Engine the website did not show availability or facilitate online sales so many of the calls he received were base inquiries about trip availability. These calls were costing time for both the operator and customer.

What Adventure Engine did for RMA

With the Adventure Engine online system in place Harry is now receiving calls that are more qualified since the customers already know if there is availability when they want to travel because they saw it one his website. Now, time spent on the phone is worthwhile as it is all about discussing trip details and the needs of the customer.

Harry now refers clients to the web site to book trips once they have decided which trip is right for them. The client pays a deposit and then comes back to pay balance prior to the trip departure.

Harry finds this to be one of the greatest values of Adventure Engine is it allows the customer to self-serve and negates frustration of phone and email tag.

He also notes that the online waiver is a critical component of the service and helps with his liability as client have to check off, download and fax in the waiver providing double assurance they have read and understood the terms.

Their trips are also featured in the WestJet airlines portal and he has received calls from both the WestJet site and from distribution of his material at trade shows by Adventure Engine.

Harry remarked "Rossland Mountain Adventures could never have received this level of branding and partnership as an individual company. I am thrilled with having this additional marketing bonus on top of such a great reservation tool."

WestJet has an Adventure Engine portal as a pop up portal in their web site that allows their passengers to look for adventures to combine with a flight.

Adventure Engine provides a value added service to the website's customers and creates an additional revenue stream for WestJet. WestJet agents now have an option to offer bundled adventure packages to their customers. Availability is up to date and so there is no need for that extra step of confirming availability with the suppliers. WestJet has chosen to constrain search results showing in their portal to seasonally appropriate trips.

Adventure Travel is one of the fastest growing segments of travel. Clients are no longer always satisfied with a mere airfare or beach vacation and many travellers are looking to add to their travels with adventure, wellness, spiritual and cultural experiences.
