Q: What is Adventure Engine?
The Adventure Engine system is unique in that it combines a robust, fully integrated reservation system with online booking capabilities AND offers increased marketing and distribution opportunities. When utilizing the full Adventure Engine reservation system a company will manage all reservations and booking details, in house and online, via the system.
Or they may choose to utilize for distributing and managing blocks of seats with agents.

Q: I have comlex trips - can you handle return trips, inventory items etc?
If your operation has complicated rules to set availability by for example:
You have a lodge for 20, 3 vehicles for transporting clients, 20 pieces of rental gear and advertise a 3,5,7 day tour all using the same inventory the Adventure Engine system can handle it.
If a group books out Dec 25-28th with a 3 day booking the 5 and 7 day will no longer be available.(unless the system manager overrides)
It is perfect for lodges, ships, tours using multi inventory shared across trips that affect availability.

In our experience most tourism operators can mange with the base module and extra to manage their inventory and rentals but if you have a complex scenario like the one above - we can handle it. And our staff set it up for you!

- is it included or an additional cost
- is it mandatory or optional
- is this item viewable by the client during booking or just for management
- does this item affect availability or not

Q: How does it work?
Our staff loads all of your trips for you and provides you with training for all of your staff.Once your booking forms are loaded to your site visitors to your website are able to search and book your trips and tours through this portal. Direct your customers to your site for online booking at their convenience.
Adventure Engine also gives you the opportunity to have the same trips and tours displayed and sold through similar portals on our distributor websites. The system is a real-time booking agent so you can display the same trip in multiple distributor websites and never worry about double-booking!

Q: How much does it cost?
Our base rate is $1750 one time set up fee then 1% per transaction.
Addition modules like agent login and inventory management are an additional $1200.
Our staff will adjust prices for smaller operations that require more ROI.

Q: What does the portal look like?
The actual portal looks very similar to the simple search on our homepage adventureengine.com. You can create your own portal based on color and search features. Below are examples of buttons you can place on your homepage that link to your portal and your trips.

Q: Why would I subscribe when I just invested so much in my current website?
Don’t change your current site. Just add the following great features:

End users can access the database directly through adventureengine.com, or through other well-visited distributor websites like chambers of commerce, tourism and recreation associations, travel agents, airlines, hotels and visitor centers. Your potential exposure increases as the number of distributors increase.

Q: What if I am not computer savvy?
Adventure Engine is easy to navigate and operate. If you are able to send email and search on Google, you will easily be able to operate Adventure Engine. As a supplier, we will alleviate the cost and frustration of database and online store maintenance by maintaining the database, your portal, and all affiliated payment and reporting features for you.

Q: How much information about my company will be available on Adventure Engine?
Information about your trips is shown including pricing, photos, itinerary, gear requirements, difficulty levels etc. But equally as important, your trips dates and seat availability is also shown making it possible for the consumer to click through and contact you or book your trip right away. In addition customers will have access to a brief description of your company including a short bio, photos, membership and affiliation information, contact information and a link to your website.

Q: There are lots of sites that want to advertise my product, what makes Adventure Engine different?
Often other sites will simply list your product, or at most, allow users to click through to your website for a fee. Adventure Engine allows customers to search and book your product in a way that is easy and ensures related search results. More importantly, you product will appear on a number of industry websites, and will be listed by availability.

Q: Will my data be safe?
Adventure Engine has 128 bit– encryption, with results that are dynamic (they get pulled away from the database when shown) so your data isn’t stored near the public domain. The system is backed-up and recorded constantly, and you can back up your data to your personal computer as well as our data vaults. Errors on your computer will not affect the database, its information or its functionality. Our server provides a multi-redundancy backup system to ensure the security and integrity of your inventory.
In addition, customer credit card information is not stored on the Adventure Engine server, but rather in our merchant services’ data vault.

Q: How do I get paid?
Adventure Engine has a master account that will allow you to run online sales, even without your own merchant account. You will create an Adventure Engine login, and your company will be assigned an account number and password. When a customer pays, the transaction goes through a payment gateway where applicable fees are automatically calculated and deducted, and the remainder is forwarded to you on a weekly basis by electronic funds transfer in North America and by cheque internationally. Agents, distributors and affiliates are paid quarterly. Your statement is available online at any time.
