1. Background

More and more visitors are selecting their destination of choice by the activities available and the ease of packaging. Let your resort or hotel stand out by not just listing activities but allowing your visitors to buy them on your site.

Offering 'bookable' activities for your guests could be the value that sets you apart. Visualize taking those pamphlets in your lobby, stacking them into a centralized database, creating a virtual storefront on your website accessible by employees AND visitors and actually selling trips to your visitors for a commission. If you already work to package trips in your region, Adventure Engine can make it easier. Operators (suppliers) set commissions, and for every trip you book through your website, Adventure Engine automatically calculates and pays out your commission through our payment gateway. No extra accounting work for you.

Adventure Engine is a centralized database of adventure travel product. Our web-based application allows you to easily add activities in your area to your web site and manage your existing network of activities you offer your clients. 2. Scenarios
Without Adventure Engine
  • The visitor has just walked into a hotel / resort.
  • The visitor wants to participate in an activity (i.e. biking).
  • The attendee behind the counter gives the visitor a group of brochures, leaving it to the visitor to contact the supplier.

  • Attendee tries to contact tour operator for availability while clients wait.

OR......

  • Visitors to the resort website are redirected to a third party supplier site or a request form and are unable to find the information they need or book right away online.

  • Attempting a partnership, the hotelier can sell seats given to him in a "block" reserved for his hotel.
  • If that block is sold out, he has no other options.
  • The supplier in this situation is also left trying to find out who sold what to whom, often leading to underselling or double booking trips.
  • If a seat is sold, hotelier advises operator by phone, fax or email.
  • Operator must then invoice hotelier.

The whole process involves a lot of administration effort to find operators, negotiate arrangements, book with confidence and account financially for it all. Central reservation is left communicating manually with supplier costing time and creating frustration.

With Adventure Engine
  • Concierge or central reservation can easily login into their web portal (virtual storefront), verify accurate and up to date availability of trips and complete a booking for guests at the counter.
  • Guests can view opportunities on the resort/hotel website and are able to book and pay for these activities quickly and securely without placing a call or email.
  • Commissions owing, as set by operators, are automatically calculated by Adventure Engine and forwarded directly to you on a quarterly basis (direct deposit electronically in Canada and the USA).
  • Everyone (visitor, operator, hotel) receives an automatic email notification, and payments are handled automatically allowing easy use and growth of partner networks.

3. How does it work?

Pick the interface that is right for you (our client care department can help with this) Adventure Engine provides you with the custom code. Paste code onto your site (its only 2 lines of code on average take 30 minutes to install) to create your portal (virtual storefront).

Customize your portal to match the look of your website and constrain search results to show only operators or activities that you choose. Choose operators according to name, geographic area, commission they will pay and more. Training is included and can be completed for your staff.

Visitors to your site enter search information onto the portal / or click to review trip details This enables visitors to go step by step through searching and booking a trip without leaving your site. When funds are collected from the visitor the AE system takes that amount, deducts the transaction fees and commissions and the remainder goes to the supplier. The commissions are then deposited by Adventure Engine to the distributor/agent who sold the seat. Adventure Engine pays the commissions quarterly unless custom agreements have been made. Adventure Engine provides monthly updates of new suppliers. Hoteliers (distributors) can review their sales and add more suppliers at any time through their administration area.


4. Bundled Solutions

We provide the adventure companies and the technology to interface with them in one easy step. Our systems allow your staff to access the trips real time and automate payments. Turn key and web solutions to put your new product up on your website and allow your web visitors to browse online. Professional level packages allow offline sales for cash, cheque sales. Add your own packaged itineraries.

5. Easy, Instant Start up

Joining Adventure Engine, picking companies to start with, initiating sales, tracking and receiving commissions is easy as 123. 1) register, 2) create portal, 3) chose activities in your area to sell.


6. Additional Suppliers

Adventure Engine can work with your existing suppliers to get their trips on the Adventure Engine database. Its efficient, cost effective and easy!


7. Flat and Variable Commissions

All Adventure Engine suppliers set a "flat commission" this is the rate they are willing to pay distributors. Custom relationships with different commission rates can be programmed. If you find a company you may want to provide additional service for (inclusion in your printed material etc) you can contact that supplier and set up an increased commission that is specific to you.


8. Automated Reporting and Payment

Adventure Engine provides you with a report of all sales done on your website through your portal and in your office. Commission payments are forwarded quarterly or on demand in custom agreements. It's your choice.
