4. How does it work on my system, during sale and how is it implemented?



I.1. If you decide on a portal
A window inset into agent website template that displays, provides search and view ability as well as trips sales all in your website!

It is really easy and your web master should have no problem. We provide you with 2 lines of code to insert into your website. Your IT pastes it into your web template. Set up takes about 15 minutes.

The portal opens up in your template and visitors to your site can search and buy trips with out leaving your site.
If you want to change colors, content of your portal you do it from your admin area - you never have to use your Webmaster again.

If you decide on a web service:
We provide you with a feed (see tech talk), which your IT will interface to your application (your website search bar or API).

Your organization may decide to put our content under a current Tab in your search bar like Vacation Packages or you may create a unique one.

When a user completes a search your system "calls" our system and we return up to the minute trip results matching the query. Because you are pulling raw data into your system you can create the output in your site to exactly match your font, color schemes and place the results in any format you want. As the user moves through the search and buy process the call to AE is repeated to forward required data for each query until a sale is completed.

Post Sale
Your clients will receive an auto email receipt as well as follow up documents for the trip as provided by the supplier which can include trip checklists, directions, redemption instructions and more.

Commissions:
When a client pays by credit cards the funds to AE our system tracks your unique reseller ID, your reporting will show the sale and commission owing. We transfer funds to you monthly for amounts over $1000 and quarterly for amounts under $1000

I. Aggregation & Distribution
Adventure Engine aggregates the supplier inventory and then distributes this content through iFrame portals or outgoing XML feeds and web services to distributors (agents, partners, distributor network, application interfaces, other GDS, any gear or adventure related website, supplier’s own website, etc). Search results can be customized and constrained to show only suppliers, activities, &/or geographic ranges that the agent chooses.

I.2. Agent / Operator interface – Net Rate Module
This module will allow agents to have a unique login access and the ability to purchase seat inventory at net rate amounts thus negating the need for an upfront credit card transaction. Activity is tracked by Adventure Engine and monthly statements prepared for both supplier and agent. The parties then complete their payables / receivables externally using the Adventure Engine reporting as back up. Net rate values can be customized for each agent as well as other privileges such as which trips they can sell, ability to process transfers/refunds, discounts and whether they can view reports.

This will save your agency an enormous amount of administrative time and expense and reduces errors occurring during manual data transfers.

I.3. Web Services (raw data feed used to populate your site or application)
Can populate a new “Adventure” tab in agent dashboards / online travel websites along side existing Air and Hotel inventory.
A user can query, or ‘call’, the Adventure Engine database for relevant information using any number of search parameters such as activity type or geography. Distributors create their own interface systems to receive AEI’s web service or can contract Adventure Engine to create services for them to perform calls and display. Web services give more freedom with the design, layout and manner in which the data is displayed on a web site or application system. Base feeds include each of the five stages of the search and purchase experience (1.search bar, 2.search results, 3.detailed itinerary, 4.shopping cart and 5.check out).
Content of the webservice can include:
-Data to populate your search bar (geography, activity type etc)
-Trip results including image and brief description, availability, geography and price
-Itineraries including day by day descriptions, gear required, FAQs
-In this manner your staff and users will have adequate information to educate themselves on the trip.


Custom sequences include shopping cart and check out.

Use of webservices for Online Travel Websites / Agent Websites:
• Sell trips from your site: populate travel website search bar return search results with sequencing through to completion of sale in your URL
• populate trip review areas
• mapping programs ( user click on an area you can use Adventure Engine to pull trips for that region)
• trip listing content for geographical regions, activity types and more to use in unique area of a site.

II.4. RSS Feeds to agents and consumers to provide instant updates on Company Tours

Adventure Engine can create RSS feeds for your organization based on geographical destination, seat sales, latest trips added/ edited and more. This is an excellent addition to hard copy marketing and communication you may be doing. Adventure Engine samples can be viewed at http://www.adventureengine.com/feeds.php

Note: I frame portals and Web services require a credit card payment in order to secure the booking and adjust the seat inventory from the central AEI database.


6. Implementation options

Implementation of Adventure Engine can be completed in phased approaches or in use of one option or another.
Adventure Engine would suggest that a natural progression for companies looking to the webservice solution includes:

PHASE I – iFrame portal / shopping portal

Agents/ distributors can place an AEI iFrame shopping portal on their website.
The same portal will be offered to all Company members but with a unique login ID so individual member sales can be tracked.

The iFrame portal will serve three main functions:
1. Unique Value add -Create a unique value added service to web site visitors.
2. Turnkey revenue -Provide a source of adventure trips and tours for member agents to review, research and resell.
3. Education! It is important that agents and their clients are introduced to the opportunity of Adventure Travel.

Customers can review options on their own and then follow up with agents for more info, or agents can suggest product to customer and either purchase on their behalf or recommend the shopping portal.

I frame portals are intended for end user use. The shopping portal is not a streamlined application for agents to use to bundle with other products as trips cannot be added to the same invoice as air and accommodations and a credit card is required for purchase at retail rates but it is an excellent first step to put over 1000 trips in front of Company’s members and will be used to determine agent interest (see phase II for complete integration).

Trips from the AEI database can be fed directly into the Company platform. Agents will then have the option to add ‘live and book-able adventure with up to date seat availability’ alongside existing products such as air and accommodation.

AEI offers five web services proving a straight data feed to subscriber’s site allowing the subscriber to have complete control over site design, layout, positioning etc.
