After your visit to El Calafate, El Chalten and Torres del Paine you will head to the fishers village of Puerto Natales and then to Punta Arenas from where you will continue by land to Ushuaia, crossing the mythic Magellan’s Strait to the Tierra del Fuego Island. Trip Itinerary
 

Patagonia remains in the mind of many travelers as the wild, exotic, mysterious, unexplored and virgin beautiful confines of planet Earth. Located in the southern area of South America and shared by Argentina and Chile, it offers terrific sceneries and is considered the pearl of the continent. Ancient breathtaking glaciers; the endless Andes range featuring imposing granite peaks; uninhabited lands; immense colored lakes; savage rivers and remote national parks and reserves that work as sanctuaries for wild fauna like penguins, whales, orcas, sea lions, pumas, deer, foxes; with tons of activities to offer will surely be an unforgettable experience. Itinerary

 

Day 1 - El Calafate / El Chalten

 

  • Upon arrival at El Calafate Airport, you will be taken downtown where the tour leader gives you a briefing of the tour.
  • In the afternoon we will head north through the mythical Route 40 skirting Lakes Argentino and Viedma towards the National Trekking Capital, the village of El Chalten, a mountain settlement at the foot of Mounts Fitz Roy & Torre.
  • Upon arrival; accommodation in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 2 - Trek to Mount Torre and its Lagoon

 

  • Morning departure after breakfast on a full day guided trek to Mount Torre and its Lagoon.
  • We will take the Laguna Torre path from El Chalten. After an hour of hiking we will reach the first lookout point. Then, we keep walking two more hours until getting to the Laguna Torre, one of the main attractions of the area.
  • After having your box lunch (included) while admiring the beautiful panorama, return to El Chalten.
  • Overnight in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 3 - Trek to Mount Fitz Roy and Los Tres Lagoon

 

  • Morning departure after breakfast on a full day guided trek to Mount Fitz Roy and Los Tres Lagoon.
  • This traditional circuit is a must. Leaving El Chalten, we will head to Poincenot camp, with magnificent views of the Fitz Roy Mt. After an hour of ascending, we will reach the first look-out of the mount. From there, after walking two more hours reaching Rio Blanco camp site, another hour up the trail to Laguna de los Tres. We will also see Laguna Sucia and Lago Viedma in the distance.
  • After having your box lunch (included) while admiring the amazing Mount, return to El Chalten.
  • Overnight in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 4 - El Chalten / El Calafate

 

  • Morning at leisure to enjoy any of the optional activities.
  • We highly recommend navigation on Lake Viedma and ice trekking on its Glacier.
  • We will board our bus back to El Calafate at 6pm.
  • Overnight in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 5 - Perito Moreno Glacier

 

  • After an early breakfast, we will leave in a full day excursion to Perito Moreno Glacier.
  • Early morning departure to the southern arm of Lake Argentino to Los Glaciares National Park. After skirting the Rico Arm of the Lake, we will get to the paths and lookout points of Perito Moreno Glacier, located 85 km from El Calafate.
  • Return to our lodging in the evening.

 

Day 6 - El Calafate

 

  • Day at leisure to enjoy any of the available Optional Tours.
  • We highly recommend the full day navigation among glaciers in Lake Argentino where you will find yourself sailing among floating icebergs until reaching Upsala Glacier, the largest one in the area, with walls up to 80 m height.
  • Overnight in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 7 - Torres del Paine National Park Tour

 

  • After an early breakfast, you will leave in a full day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park. Early morning departure from El Calafate to the Chilean border reached at 10am in the morning and from where, after customs, we will head 90 km straight to Torres del Paine. Taking the internal route, we first pass by Lake Sarmiento and Amarga Lagoon. After a few kilometers we will get to the first lookout point for a panoramic view of the Paine Horns. We will continue to Lake Pehoe and Paine River. We will finally reach Lago Grey Inn to start our return to the Park's Administration office to start a short trek to Salto Grande to enjoy the magnificent sights.
  • We will camp in a full-service camping with hot shower, restaurant and bathrooms, in a settlement blessed with fantastic views to the mountains.

 

Day 8 - Trek to the Base of Paine Towers

 

  • After breakfast, departure to Las Torres Inn from where we will start our trek across the Ascencio Valley to the lagoon located at the foot of the Paine Towers. On the way across woods, we will enjoy wonderful views of the Park.
  • Return to our camping in the evening to spend our last night in the Park.

 

Day 9 - Torres del Paine to Punta Arenas, through Puerto Natales

 

  • Morning at leisure. In the afternoon we will continue our adventure traveling south to Punta Arenas, visiting on the way Puerto Natales.
  • Upon arrival, accommodation in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 10 - Crossing the Magullan Strait from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia

 

  • After breakfast, we will start our 12-hour bus ride to Ushuaia, crossing the Magellan Strait by ferry to Tierra del Fuego Island.
  • Evening arrival in Ushuaia, also known as the Southernmost City in the World and where we will spend the last three days of our tour.
  • Overnight in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 11 - Trek and Canoeing in Tierra del Fuego National Park

 

  • After breakfast, we will leave in a full day excursion of trekking and canoeing in the Tierra del Fuego National Park including lunch.
  • Morning departure to Ensenada Bay, located in the Tierra del Fuego National Park, from where we will start a 3-hour trekking admiring amazing views of the Beagle Channel. We will be escorted by a specialized guide during the 7km walk to Lake Roca during which we will learn about local flora, fauna and old Indian settlements. Enjoy lunch by the shores of the lake and get yourself prepared for a canoeing through Lapataia River to Lapataia Bay, at the end of the Panamerican Road, by the Beagle Channel.
  • Return to Ushuaia in the late afternoon.
  • Overnight in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 12 - Beagle Channel Navigation

 

  • We will leave from the pier in a morning navigation of the Beagle Channel.
  • We leave the local pier towards Alicia Island, where we find a sea lions' colony. Afterwards, we sail to De los Pájaros Island, inhabited by Royal and Imperial Cormorants. From there, we sail to De los Lobos Island, where we can find specimens of sea lions with one and two hairs, and we finally reach Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, which was built in 1929. On our way back, we disembark on one of the Bridges Isles to go on a stroll down a path where flora and birds are interpreted, and the story of the Yamana people is told as well. It is important to point out that we can find the biggest Yamana's "concheros" (shelly deposits) of the area on the island. And on our way back to Ushuaia, we have some tea, coffee with liqueur, some cookies and, of course, the traditional Argentine mate.
  • Overnight in the comfortable selected Inn.

 

Day 13 - Ushuaia

 

  • At appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight to your next destination.
